„Bachelor-Welcome!“ Two-cycle degree system becomes accepted
The Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) in the CHE-Ranking 2008 included for the first time a ranking of master’s programmes in business studies. As noted in the Centre's study report, students judged the organisation of their academic programmes, commented on their reasons to start a master’s programme, and rated the quality of their previous bachelor programme. In a parallel study, professors were queried about their opinions regarding the diverse opportunities provided by the Bologna reforms (Please find a related article on the MBA-platform). Most important results: Bachelor's as well as Master's degrees are accepted on the labour market. Most professors in business studies recommend to gain work experience before starting a Master's programme.Almost the half of professors at universities of applied sciences and more than one third of those teaching business studies at universities think that the two-cycle degree system introduced through the Bologna reforms has positive effects on their graduates' employment outlook. You can find the abstract in English in the CHE's study report here. |
