The detailed Ranking of the CHE Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung (a centre for the development of higher education in Germany) gives prospective students but also PhD candidates wishing to start their doctoral programme at another university a good overview on the quality of universities and universities of applied sciences in the German speaking area of Central Europe. Besides general facts about 35 study programmes, teaching methods, equipment and research the regular ranking also gathers statements and opinions of more than 250.000 students about studying conditions at their university as well as the reputation of single faculties among professors in the corresponding field of study. The CHE ranking is published since 1998 and since 2005 edited by the renowned German weekly newspaper „Die Zeit“. |
