Education against global energy crisis: "Global Energy MBA"
The British Warwick Business School started its new MBA programme this year. The Global Energy MBA tries to combine traditional management studies with the international energy industry sector. Security of energy supplies is one of the most urgent challenges the world is facing, and closely connected to the greatest challenge: global warming. Which are appropriate measures to answer changing energy needs in the world? Emerging and developing countries have different needs as industrialised countries do have. What about the renewable energy sector, regulation, climate change etc.? For the Business School it is clear that the new generation of managers needs a more global perspective on the field regarding technological and economic challenges for instance but they also have to develop an understanding of the many political implications of the field. The first class of students has been fixed, and it is interesting to look at their different backgrounds. The Warwick Business School has summarized it in a short, statistical overview.
