Sustainability: More managers taking on responsibility
The Reims Management School has set itself a high target. The French business school recently published its report on “Global Responsibility”. In future, they want to train managers in taking on more responsibility, being aware of the global challenges in a more and more complex world. They elaborated 5 goals which contain indicators for a more social and eco-friendly performance of their institution. - Qualifying a new generation of managers taking on responsibility, - advancing applied sciences in global responsibility and sharing new knowledge with companies, - getting more open socially and culturally, - stimulating diversity in research topics, and – which is the most concrete goal – reducing the ecological footprint of each campus. Everyone talks about sustainability, but for many companies it is still not more than a marketing label. This also applies to the education sector. But there are some schools who see the signs of the times and are trying to develop corresponding education programmes seriously. But what is behind the term "sustainability management"?
